Seneca Falls – John A. DiSanto, 86, of E. Bayard St. Extension, Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Friday January 11, 2019 at Newark-Wayne Hospital, Newark, NY.
John was born in Syracuse, NY on July 23, 1932 the son of the late Anthony and Margaret (Pelow) DiSanto. He had resided in Seneca Falls most of his life, served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict and was retired from the former Phillips ECG/GTE Sylvania of Seneca Falls where he was plant manager. He was huge sports enthusiast, an avid golfer and a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the New York Knicks. Over the years he and his late wife Shirley traveled to over 70 countries.
John is survived by:
Three sons, John T. (Kathleen) DiSanto of Scottsdale, AZ, Brian A. (Cathy) DiSanto of Auburn, NY, and Scott V. (Donna) DiSanto of Waterloo, NY, eight grandchildren Justin, Jammie, Zachariah, Eric and Julie DiSanto, Bobby and Brittany Simon, and Jarod Smith, seven great grandchildren, five siblings, Dorothy Salerno of Lyons, NY, Annette DiSanto of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Joan (Mike) Shaw of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Jean (Robert) Celso of Corpus Christi, Texas, Donald (Cindy) DiSanto Lyons, NY and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, John was predeceased by his sister Mary Alice DiSanto.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Tuesday January 15 from 4 PM to 6 PM. The Seneca Falls Honor Guard will conduct military honors at 5:45 PM, and a funeral service will follow at 6 PM. Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Seneca Falls at the convenience of the family. If desired, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
